Agama africana (Agama Lizard sp.)

Description:

In their revision of "West African Agama", Mediannikov et al. (2012) concluded on both molecular and morphological grounds that this form, Agama africana, previously considered a subspecies of Agama agama, is a valid full species in its own right.
The taxonomy of this form remains unsettled and is currently under review, although it is considered a valid species.
Agama africana seem to occur in Liberia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Mali and Guinea, however, these records have yet to be included in molecular analysis and are consequently only provisionally regarded as belonging to this species.
