Scoparia ambigualis (Crambid Snout Moth sp.)

Description:

Scoparia ambigualis (wingspan: 22mm) is very common in Holland but is easily confused with Eudonia truncicolella, Eudonia lacustrata, Eudonia mercurella, Scoparia basistrigalis (rare in The Netherlands) and Scoparia ancipitella (not in the Benelux).
Scoparia ambigualis usually is more brownish and white, while the others are more black and white.
The adults fly from May to July and can be found resting on tree-trunks or rocks.
