Salticus scenicus (Zebra Spider sp.)

Description:

Salticus scenicus is a species of zebra spider and is sometimes referrd to as the Zebra Jumper or Zebra Back Spider.
The most distinctive feature of these spiders is their two very large eyes (next to six smaller ones), which is typical for jumping spiders, giving them excellent binocular vision.
Zebra Spiders (size: 5-7 mm) are often noted for their awareness of humans.
Upon noticing someone observing them, they can be seen raising their head, and usually change behavior (hence the name Salticus scenius: theatrical jumper).
Adult males have greatly elongated jaws and fangs.
They also appear darker and more slender than females.
