In april 2016, I took a plane to Sofia for a short 4-day solo birding trip to the southern part of Bulgaria.

This part of Bulgaria is extraordinary, especially around the town of Melnik.
In addition, I spent one day just across the border in Greece, at Kerkini Lake, famous for its Dalmatian Pelicans, Great White Pelicans and Pygmy Cormorants.
