White-tailed Eagle

Description:

The White-tailed Eagle is considered the fourth largest eagle in the world.
It takes a White-tailed Eagle 5 to 6 years to acquire its adult plumage where the tail slowly becomes white, the head uniform pale, the eyes from brown to pale yellow and the beak goes from blackish-gray to yellow.
They have a characteristic aerial courtship display which culminates in the pair locking claws mid-air and whirling earthwards in a series of spectacular cartwheels.
Some individuals have been found to live over 25 years.
