Strawberry Blossom Weevil

Description:

The Strawberry Blossom Weevil is a very small weevil (around 2.5 mm - 3 mm) that feeds on all kinds of rose plants and is an important pest of strawberry, raspberry and blackberry.
The female weevil uses her snout to stab a hole into an unopened flower bud (see photos).
She then turns round and places an egg right into the hole and into the centre of the flower bud.
