Meconema meridionale is a small bush-cricket, reaching only 16 mm long. Meconema meridionale can be easily distinguished by its close relative Meconema thalassinum (Fully-winged Oak Bush-cricket) by having very short wings. They are bad flyers and prefer to live on oak trees. Since they are attracted to light, people find them near or even in their houses, usually between September and December when it gets colder outside.
