Rhabdodryas trite (Sulphur sp.)

Description:

Rhabdodryas trite uses rivers as migration corridors, and can often be seen flying in strings of up to a dozen insects along riverbanks. Males commonly aggregate with other Coliadinae including various Phoebis species and Aphrissa statira, to imbibe mineralised moisture from river beaches.
The second photo shows one Rhabdodryas trite on the left, in the company of several Aphrissa statira.

Andrew Neild, author of The Butterflies of Venezuela and a recognized authority on Neotropical butterflies, helped me identifying this butterfly.
