Description:
Red-footed Falcons differ significantly in appearance between females and males.
While the male is a rich dark blue-gray, the female is primarily rust-brown with blue-gray feathers.
Immature birds have a streaked breast.
Red-footed Falcons breed in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and winter in Southern Africa.
Like Common Kestrels, they regularly hover in the air to locate prey.
