Morelet’s Seedeater

Description:

In 2018, the White-collared Seedeater has been split into two species:
1. Cinnamon-rumped Seedeater (Sporophila torqueola); and
2. Morelet’s Seedeater (Sporophila morelleti).

Morelet’s Seedeater occurs in southern Texas south to northern Panama.
Cinnamon-rumped Seedeater is endemic to and occurs only in western Mexico.
