Greater Short-nosed Fruit Bat

Description:

The Greater Short-nosed Fruit Bat (Cynopterus sphinx) is a widespread species and common in tropical forests and areas where fruit crops are cultivated.
They can also be found in grassland and mangrove forests.
It is found in small colonies consisting of 3-7 individuals, sometimes more.
They typically nest high in palm trees.
The Greater Short-nosed Fruit Bat is similar to the Lesser Short-nosed Fruit Bat (Cynopterus brachyotis) but it has generally longer forearms, longer ears and a much longer skull.
