The 'Ear' moths, or Amphipoea species are so alike that it is not usually reliable to distinguish them without referring to their genitalic structure.
England has four 'Ear' moths: Amphipoea fucosa, Amphipoea lucens, Amphipoea crinanensis and Amphipoea oculea.
